Made to Order
The Classic Japanese Vegetable Chopper
Materials
Fashioned from Nitro-V Stainless steel to ensure that the Bird River's blade has exceptional sharpness and durability. The Japanese Wa style handle is a combination of Air-Canada Micarta (Bolster) and stabilized Manitoba Maple.
Design
Enhanced cutting performance! The concave on the left and the convex right of the blade make for incredible cutting. The convex rolls away foods from the surface of the blade, reducing drag. The concave, further reduces food drag for easy slices.
Based on the classic Japanese vegetable chopper, this RDF knife features a minute sweep to the blade to allow a short rocking motion to assist in cutting. This provides the user with the ability to rapid-chop vegetables and make delicate slices. The ovoid octagon faceted handle ensures excellent blade control.
The Bird River loves to cut large leafy greens like romaine salad, kale and bok choy but will handle slicing root vegetables like a champ. Getting fine carrot and radish slices for quick pickles will be a breeze.
The Bird River Nakiri is not only a beautifully crafted kitchen knife, but it is also a tribute to the breathtaking natural beauty of Manitoba's Bird River. Its exceptional design and craftsmanship make it a must-have for anyone who loves to cook and appreciates the beauty of nature. The wood's natural grain patterns and colours are reminiscent of the Bird River's lush and serene aquatic plants, further adding to the knife's natural charm.
Drop the Bird River into your shopping cart. It's an excellent addition to any home cook or professional chef's collection.

Made to Dominate the Serbian Cleaver
Dear to my heart, Beaver Creek is the gateway to Saxton Lake, Okimaw and Kikaki Lake. These places were the source of my first backwood adventures. This knife is inspired by the beauty of the wilderness of these places, making it an essential tool for preparing meals in the great outdoors.
Materials
♻️ Earth-friendly. The 1080 series steel has a unique and distinctive character that, with use, will develop a patina, creating a one-of-a-kind look that reflects its rugged origins.
Made from steel recycled from sawmill blades, the BCC's carbon steel is hard and has a long-lasting cutting edge. Its sweeping blade is counterbalanced by a large butt to provide balance. The BCC is forward weighted, giving it a powerful feel that isn't heavy.
Design
The curve of the blade makes the BCC an excellent all-around knife. From dicing onions to cutting noodles, the large blade is great for on-the-fly cooking when the hot pan is waiting for its next ingredient. Its sharp and sturdy blade ensures precision slicing and chopping.
The handle of the Beaver Creek is made from a beautiful bocote. Its natural wood grain adds to the knife's rustic charm and complements the recycled steel blade. Custom options are also available.

Built to Tackle the Outdoors
Named after Justin Lamoureux's experiences navigating the Black River, this knife pays homage to his adventures in remote wilderness areas during Spring, when the thaw brings life to the waterway. However, caution is advised during Summer when water lilies and wild rice can congest the river.
Materials
Crafted from durable 80CRV2 steel and featuring impact-resistant G10 scales, the Black River Bushcrafter is inspired by the rugged terrain of the Black River. Its robust design includes a thick 3/16" spine with 90-degree angles, perfect for utilizing Ferro-rods, and a reinforced multi-pin handle construction for enduring tough tasks like batoning.
Design
The flattened butt of the knife enables powerful downward strikes, allowing the blade to be embedded into stumps for tasks like processing cordage and campfire preparation. Designed for a secure and comfortable grip, the handle fills the hand and features a slightly flared butt for retention, combining functionality with an attractive appearance.
The blade, ground to 3/4 height, retains a sharp edge while maintaining the hard-use Scandi grind ethic. A swedge or false-edge on the top provides a fine piercing point for added versatility.
Colourway
Available in various G10 color options, with the possibility of upgrading to custom handles upon confirmation via email, this 80CRV2 beauty is built to tackle the outdoors.

Wanipigow Lake is where I fell in love with nature. It’s where I harvested clams and crayfish, caught fish. And where I learned of legends of the monster fish in hidden canoe-accessible lakes. We searched for gold. We bonded as a family.
Materials
Made from Stainless AEB-L razor blade steel.
Handle is made from G10 liners and GripX, a composite material infused with rubber particles for increased grip.
Design
The Wanipigow Filet Knife was designed as a mid-flex blade not available with commercially made knives. These aren’t noodle knives. They offer a more rigid belly for skinning and getting through tough bones and scales. With its progressive distal taper, the blade becomes more flexible towards the tip of the knife, adding control when removing ribs and other fine work.
The handle has been designed for max retention with pinky and index finger swells that assist with slippery hands.
Colourways
The Wanipigow Filet can be ordered in different colours of Grip Tech. Users may also choose other available handle materials such as G10 or wood.
Every knife comes with a thermo-molded kydex sheath made to match the handle selection.

Heat treatment of AEB-L requires special equipment and is done in-house at the RDF shop. The steel is heated in an oxygen-free environment at 1925'F and rapidly cooled. This is followed by a cryo treatment to achieve maximum hardness. Two 2 hour tempering cycles are the final step to achieve toughness.

***See third photo - Vertical lines were caused by the removal of oxides when protecting the blade with electrical tape.
A tie? Who wants another tie? Dad’s love is worth more than a tie!
Uniquely special…just like dad. The beauty of this knife is that you won’t find another like it. The layers of steel, including unreproducible wrought iron and, in the handle, blue-dyed box elder burl, both like fingerprints. There’s only one like this.
The layup of steel was done under extreme pressure and heat. It was then cut to shape and refined to have a wicked sharp cutting edge.
RDF stands behind its work. If you ever have issues with the knife, we’ll set it straight. Being a lamination of several steels, including carbon steels and wrought, this blade will require a bit of extra attention, ie, periodically oiling the blade and handle. (RDF will include a tin of Cuttlers Coat.) Need a tune up? Send it in and RDF will give it a spa treatment.
Leather sheath? Included ✅
Blade length: 3.75”
OAL: 7.75”
Does Dad deserve this knife? (Dad…You deserve this knife.) Make Dad Happy
You know what…Maybe get him a tie instead. All his friends will be impressed with his new tie. But when John pulls out the knife, no one will care about the tie.
Imagine old pops, cutting rope, buttering toast, opening boxes, lost in the wild with only a tie…better get him that knife.

Design
The Cisco is the fixed blade your everyday carry has been missing.
Designed and handcrafted in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the RDF Cisco is a compact, full-tang EDC knife that moves seamlessly between daily tasks and demanding outdoor use. Whether you're navigating an urban environment or pushing into the backcountry, this is a knife built for real use, not just for looks.
At 7.5 inches overall, the Cisco is light enough for all-day carry and tough enough for hard use on the trail or in camp. Inspired by the resilience of the North American fish it's named after, it's designed to perform day in, day out, and keep performing for decades.
Best for: Everyday carry, utility tasks, hiking, and camp use.
Blade

Each blade is hand-ground with full flat grinds, etched, and stone-washed for a resilient, low-maintenance finish. Heat-treated in-house using a professional Evenheat kiln and quenched in Parks 50 oil for optimal hardness and toughness. Alternative steels are available on request.
